July 23, 2025What to Wear to a Rage Room (and Why It Matters)
First time smashing? Perfect. The right outfit makes your session safer, more comfortable, and way more fun—and it helps you nail those post-smash photos. Here’s your quick, no-stress guide from the team at All Out Smash (Denver, CO).
TL;DR (Quick Answer)
- Musts: closed-toe athletic shoes, comfortable clothes you don’t mind scuffing, hair tied back.
- Avoid: open-toe shoes, heels, dangling jewelry, loose scarves, long acrylic nails.
- We provide: all required safety gear (e.g., eye/face protection, gloves). Details are in your booking confirmation.
- Nice to bring: water, spare socks, hair ties, makeup wipes, phone lanyard.

Why What You Wear Matters
Rage rooms are controlled, supervised fun—but you’re still swinging tools and breaking objects. The right clothing:
- Reduces slips, snags, and scratches
- Keeps you cool under adrenaline (and Denver’s altitude!)
- Lets you move freely for better swings (and better pictures)
- Nice to bring: water, spare socks, hair ties, makeup wipes, phone lanyard.
The AOS Outfit Formula (Head-to-Toe)
Shoes (Non-negotiable)
- Closed-toe, closed-heel athletic shoes with good grip
- No sandals, slides, heels, or steel-spike footwear
- If it’s snowy or rainy in Denver, bring dry backup shoes for traction
Bottoms
- Athletic joggers, jeans, or leggings that cover the legs and stretch
- Skip extra-baggy pants that could catch on gear or debris
Tops
- Skip extra-baggy pants that could catch on gear or debris
- Light layers work best; you’ll warm up quickly once you start smashing
Hands & Arms
- Gloves are provided/required. Long sleeves are optional comfort for sensitive skin.
Eyes & Face
- Eye/face protection is always provided and required. If you wear glasses, you can usually keep them on under/with protective gear (ask our team at check-in).
Jewelry, Hair & Nails
- Remove dangling jewelry and big hoop earrings
- Tie back long hair (bring a scrunchie)
- Very long acrylics or press-ons can make grip tricky—consider shorter nails for the day
What we provide (and why)
All Out Smash supplies all required PPE (personal protective equipment)—for example, eye/face protection and gloves—so you’re covered from safety to style. Some guests also choose to wear disposable coveralls; availability and details are in your confirmation email or at check-in.
Questions before you come in? See our Rage Room FAQs or call us.
What not to wear (hard no’s)
- Open-toe/open-heel shoes, heels, or cleats
- Loose scarves, long necklaces, dangling belts
- Fragile fashion (delicate fabrics you’d be sad to scuff)
- Clothing with long, loose ties or strings
Photo-Ready Tips (because pics or it didn’t happen)
- Wear high-contrast colors so you pop against our room backgrounds
- Go light on lotion—less slip = better grip
- Bring a phone lanyard or zip pocket for your device
- Grab a before/after wall shot and tag @AllOutSmash—we love sharing guest photos
Denver-Specific Prep
- Hydrate (mile-high life!), especially if you’re pairing your smash with drinks at Smash Shack
- In winter: wear layers you can remove once you’re warmed up
- In summer: pick moisture-wicking fabrics for max comfort
What to bring (optional checklist)
- Water bottle
- Backup socks/shirt
- Hair ties & wipes
- Contact lens case (if you prefer switching to glasses)
